Maria Jose leads the company’s sustainable practices and responsible investment efforts, overseeing Sustainability and Environmental & Social Governance aspects across Latin American projects.
With extensive experience in ESG, Maria previously held a leadership position at Engie Mexico, ensuring compliance with IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principles for renewable and oil & gas assets. Her expertise contributed to the successful integration of sustainable practices. Maria Jose also played a pivotal role in designing and implementing Stakeholder Engagement and Social Impact Investment strategies for a significant natural gas pipeline owned by PEMEX. Her dedication to fostering positive relationships and generating social impact showcases her commitment to sustainable development.
Maria Jose holds a degree in sociology from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and a B.A. in Sociology and Latin American and Latino Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
